THE HISTORY OF ANNA MARIA
The City of Anna Maria was first established at the north end of the Island and incorporated in 1923. Home to Pine Avenue also known as "The Greenest Little Main Street in America". You'll find other local landmarks such as the Rod & Reel Pier, Anna Maria City Jail & Historic Society, AMI City Pier, and Bean Point - visitors can find a variety of fine dining and shopping options located throughout.
Pictured above is the historic Rod & Reel Pier! Although its known to be a fantastic fishing spot, it also offers a beautiful view of the Bay waters with the Skyway Bridge in the distance. Enjoy some delicious local seafood at the restaurant located on site or cool off with an ice cold drink at the bar. One thing is for sure, you will most likely spot a dolphin or two during your visit.
Sit back and relax at one of the many beautiful and public beach access points which are conveniently accessed by foot or on bike. Watch dolphins play in the water or the boats go by at Bayfront Park.
